What is an Opioid?
Opioids are a class of chemicals that are related to opium. They include narcotic painkillers such as hydrocodone (norco), oxycodone (percocet) and morphine, among others. They also include illicit drugs such as heroin, as well as some medications that are used to treat heroin addictions, such as buprenorphine (suboxone).
